    Christina Marrero, ATR-BC, LPC

I have been a practicing therapist since 2011, and had the benefit of supervised practice throughout my graduate studies prior to then. The majority of my practice has been with neurodivergent people of all ages (mostly Autistic people or people with diagnoses of ADHD), people struggling with anxiety, and people recovering from spiritual or religious injuries.

I currently work with adults ages 18 years old and up. I am especially focused on working with people who seek emotional support bringing their authentic self into fruition. Often these concerns occur in congruence with special concerns related to neurodivergence. I use a combination of therapy approaches to assist with identifying and healing wounds of the past and gaining power in the present.

I offer art therapy and integrated therapy to people living in Philadelphia and the greater Philadelphia area. Integrated therapy is the use of a variety of therapy techniques customized to fit the needs of the individual. I have received extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic art therapy, and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). My intersectionality informs my approach as I am attuned to the struggles and circumstances of marginalized groups.

I am an adjunct professor in the Creative Arts Therapies Department at Drexel University where I teach a course on Therapeutic Gaming and supervise graduate students during their culminating project work. I am an alumnus of this program, and my thesis was focused on the way art therapists experience and respond to the spirituality of their clients in therapy sessions.
